Drunk driver involved in accident offers 'we had a patient' defense
In Çorlu, Tekirdağ, the intoxicated driver of a car that caused a property damage accident by sideswiping a parked vehicle said, "We had a patient, we needed to move urgently."
The accident occurred during the night in the Çobançeşmeneighborhood on Mustafa Kemal 2nd Street. The car driven by T.C. sideswiped a vehicleparked on the side of the road,causing the bodyworkto get scratched.
Following the accident, traffic police were called to the scene. It was determined that driver T.C. had a blood alcohol level of 1.80 promille during the check. The driverThe driver was fined for driving under the influence,and in addition,the driver wasfound to be over the legalalcohol limitand was taken to the police station to provide a statement.
