Earthquake in Iraq felt in Hakkari
A 4.8-magnitude earthquake that occurred in Erbil, Iraq, was also felt in Hakkari.
According to data from the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) Earthquake Department, a 4.8-magnitude earthquake was recorded at 21:03 Turkish time, with its epicenter in Erbil, Iraq.
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 7 kilometers and the tremors were also felt in Hakkari.
STATEMENT ON THE EARTHQUAKE FROM HAKKARİ GOVERNOR ÇELİK
Hakkari Governor Ali Çelik stated that the earthquake in Erbil, Iraq, was felt in all districts, particularly in Derecik, and said, "There are no reports or findings of any serious issues in our district centers or villages.
However, our teams have been assigned to conduct damage assessments in all residential areas, including our villages."
In a post on his social media account regarding the earthquake, Hakkari Governor Ali Çelik stated, "At 21:03, a 4.8-magnitude earthquake occurred in the Mergasur region of Erbil, Iraq. The earthquake was felt in all our districts, especially in Derecik.
According to initial information, there are no reports or findings of any serious issues in our district centers or villages. However, our teams have been assigned to conduct damage assessments in all residential areas, including our villages. Get well soon; may God protect our city and our country from all disasters."
