Earthquake panic in Sındırgı
A 4.3-magnitude earthquake that occurred at 19:15 in Sındırgı, Balıkesir, caused brief panic. Following the 6.1-magnitude earthquakes on August 10 and October 27, the district had been declared a disaster zone.
According to AFAD data, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 9.6 kilometers with a magnitude of 4.3.
In addition to Sındırgı, the earthquake was also felt in Bursa, Balıkesir, Kütahya, İzmir, and Manisa.
It was stated that life in Sındırgı, which is accustomed to earthquakes, returned to normal in a short time.
Since the first major earthquake on August 10, 15 thousand 300 aftershocks have been recorded to date.
Around 1600 independent units in the region sustained moderate or heavy damage, and the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change had laid the foundations for 531 disaster housing units and workplaces.
