Easter service held at the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople

The program began with a service led by Patriarch Bartholomew at the Hagia Georgios Church of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, where prayers and hymns were recited.

Konstantinos Koutras, the Consul General of Greece in Istanbul, also attended the service.

During the service, which continued in the courtyard of the Patriarchate, the lights in the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and the church were extinguished at midnight, and the bells were rung.

Those attending the service accompanied the ceremony by lighting candles symbolizing the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Easter program, which will continue with prayers until morning, will conclude with a service to be held at 10:00 AM.
