Elderly man shot by his son-in-law

A family dispute in the Karakoçan district of Elazığ turned into an armed altercation. An 80-year-old man was shot and wounded by his son-in-law.

The incident occurred in the Yeni neighborhood of Karakoçan. According to information obtained, a woman experiencing problems with her husband went to her father's house. A dispute broke out between the son-in-law, who had come to the father-in-law's house to retrieve his wife, and the father-in-law.

The argument escalated quickly, and the son-in-law shot his 80-year-old father-in-law, S.B., with a firearm.

Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

The elderly man, who was wounded in both legs, was taken to Karakoçan State Hospital by medical teams.

While police teams took extensive security measures in the area, it was learned that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
