Electric blanket tragedy in Bursa: Apartment reduced to ashes
A fire that broke out on the second floor of a 3-story building in Bursa reduced the apartment to ashes. A mother of two, who tried to intervene in the flames, was injured, while the fire was extinguished by firefighting teams. It is alleged that the fire started from an electric blanket.
The fire occurred around 10:00 a.m. in a 3-story apartment building located in the Yeşilova neighborhood of the central Osmangazi district.
According to allegations, flames originating from an electric blanket quickly engulfed the entire apartment. Meral Akyüz (40), a mother of two, was injured while trying to intervene in the flames after getting her children out of the apartment and was rescued by her neighbors.

Firefighting teams dispatched to the scene upon notification quickly extinguished the flames, but the apartment was left in ruins. The injured mother was transported to the hospital after receiving initial medical intervention from health teams.

While the police have launched an investigation into the fire, it was learned that Akyüz is in good health.
