Explosion at gas filling facility in Salihli, Manisa: 2 workers lost their lives
A fire that broke out at a gas filling facility in the Salihli district of Manisa has been brought under control. 2 workers died and 2 people were injured in the explosion.
An explosion occurred in the morning hours at a gas filling facility located in the Salihli district of Manisa. While numerous teams intervened in the fire that broke out following the explosion, 2 workers lost their lives and 2 people were injured in the incident.
According to the information obtained, the explosion occurred for an as-yet undetermined reason at the Kavas Gas Filling Facility, located in the Small Industrial Site in Atatürk Neighborhood. Upon notification, fire, health, AFAD, police, and other relevant teams were dispatched to the region.

It was stated that violent explosions also occurred from time to time at the facility, and security measures were taken in the surrounding area. While the fire was brought under control with the intervention of the teams, cooling and precautionary measures against gas leaks continued in the region.
As a result of the teams' efforts, the lifeless bodies of one of the workers, Servet Ekiz, and another person whose identity has not yet been determined, were recovered. The 2 people injured in the explosion were taken to the hospital for treatment after the initial intervention by medical teams.

GOVERNOR ÖZKAN INSPECTED THE REGION
Manisa Governor Vahdettin Özkan also went to the scene after the fire to conduct inspections. Özkan stated that fire departments, as well as forestry units, AFAD, and other units, intervened in the fire.
In his initial assessment, Governor Özkan stated that the injured were taken to the hospital for treatment and that they were not in life-threatening condition. Özkan also said that technical and legal investigations at the scene are continuing under the coordination of the public prosecutor.
The exact cause of the explosion will be determined after the investigations are completed. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
