Explosion in Bahçelievler, Istanbul
An explosion occurred in the Bahçelievler district of Istanbul.
A fire broke out at an auto body and paint shop in Bahçelievler in the evening hours.
As the flames rose, paints inside the shop exploded, and the fire was brought under control after a 1-hour intervention.
The fire occurred around 19:30 on Hüdavendigar Street in the Soğanlı neighborhood of Bahçelievler. According to the information obtained, an auto body and paint shop on the street began to burn for an unknown reason.
Due to the fire, which grew in a short time, the paints inside the shop exploded. The explosions caused panic among those nearby as flames engulfed the shop.
Upon notification, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. While the fire crews intervened quickly, a vehicle inside the shop was damaged. The fire was brought under control as a result of the teams' 1-hour effort. There were no deaths, injuries, or cases of smoke inhalation in the incident, and the shop owner could not be reached.
Investigations by the teams regarding the fire, which caused material damage to the workplace, are ongoing.
