A bagel bakery in Bursa was inspected following a complaint alleging that tare weight was not being deducted during product sales. It was reported that the Bursa Provincial Directorate of Trade imposed an administrative fine on the business for violating the Price Tag Regulation.
The inspection process was initiated following an application submitted via CİMER. The complaint alleged that the weight of containers or packaging was not being deducted for products sold by weight. Consequently, teams conducted an inspection at the bagel bakery in question.

According to the Price Tag Regulation, when calculating the net amount for products sold in bulk, the tare—known as the weight of the packaging or container—must be deducted. This rule aims to ensure that the consumer pays only for the actual weight of the product purchased.
The tare application is particularly important for products sold by weight, such as bagels, nuts, and similar items. It was stated that the Bursa Provincial Directorate of Trade continues its inspections both through routine checks and in response to citizen complaints in order to protect consumer rights and ensure accuracy in measurement and weighing.
