Fire at plastic factory in Balıkesir extinguished in 2 hours
A fire that broke out at a plastic factory in the Edremit Organized Industrial Zone was extinguished by fire department and municipal teams before it could spread to surrounding businesses.
A fire broke out at a plastic factory located in the Organized Industrial Zone in the Edremit district of Balıkesir. The fire, which started around 15:00, was brought under control following the intervention of teams dispatched to the scene upon reports from those in the area.
As the flames, which started for an as-yet-undetermined reason, grew quickly, a large number of fire crews were directed to the region. Municipal teams also supported the firefighting efforts.
As a result of the intensive work by the teams, the fire was completely extinguished within approximately 2 hours without spreading to surrounding businesses. After the flames were brought under control, cooling operations were carried out at the factory.
An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire. It was reported that the teams' work regarding the incident is ongoing.
