Fire at the historic Kestel Castle in Bursa
A fire broke out at the historic Kestel Castle, which gives its name to the Kestel district of Bursa. The fire was extinguished by fire crews before it could spread.
The fire broke out around 21:30 in a shed located at the historic Kestel Castle. Citizens who saw the smoke reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Service Line. Upon the report, numerous police, medical, and fire crews were dispatched to the scene.

While police teams took security measures in the surrounding area, fire crews began to intervene at the historic Kestel Castle. The fire was brought under control and extinguished through the intervention of the fire crews. The wooden shed inside the castle was rendered unusable by the fire.

Kestel Mayor Ferhat Erol, who arrived at the scene, stated, "We visited the historic Kestel Castle with our council members this morning. We received the report around 21:36 in the evening. The fire crews intervened quickly. The fire inside has been extinguished. Cooling efforts are ongoing. May God protect us from worse. I would like to thank the fire crews."
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
