A fire broke out in an empty annex building undergoing renovation at the Koşuyolu High Specialization Training and Research Hospital in Kartal, Istanbul. The cause of the fire, which started on the roof of the hospital's annex building in the Cevizli neighborhood, has not yet been determined.
Upon notification, numerous firefighting teams, as well as medical, police, and AFAD teams, were dispatched to the scene. During the teams' intervention, patients in the building adjacent to the empty structure where the fire broke out were evacuated as a precaution.
While police teams took security measures around the hospital, the fire was brought under control and extinguished as a result of the firefighters' efforts. It was reported that cooling operations are ongoing in the area.
