Fire in area near residential zones in İzmir

The fire started during the night in a grassy and scrubland area near the Bimeyko Complex located in the Çandarlı neighborhood of the district.

The fire, which grew due to the effect of the wind, spread near residential areas, causing panic among the residents of the complex.

On the other hand, it was learned that the complex was evacuated as a precautionary measure.

STATEMENT FROM THE DIKILI DISTRICT GOVERNOR

Dikili District Governor Ali Edip Budan said in a statement that the fire broke out in a grassy area located below a housing complex and spread to an olive grove.

Stating that the fire expanded due to the wind, Budan said, "There is a very strong wind blowing from the sea as well. The fire is currently continuing near the Çandarlı and Denizköy neighborhoods. The area is large and it is spreading. Our teams are working to bring the fire under control."

FIRE BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL

Intervention in the fire continued throughout the night. With the break of dawn, support was provided to the firefighting efforts with 2 planes and 2 helicopters.

The fire has been brought under control through the efforts of the teams.
