A fire broke out in an elevator at Taksim Metro Station. While there was a brief moment of panic, the fire was extinguished by the intervention of firefighting teams.
According to the information obtained, a fire broke out for an unknown reason in an elevator at Taksim Metro Station at around 20:30.
Dense smoke formed in the area, exacerbated by the wind.
Upon notification, numerous fire, medical, and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
The fire was extinguished following the intervention of the teams. While there were no injuries in the incident, an investigation into the fire has been launched.
Meanwhile, due to the fire, Metro Istanbul announced on its social media account that the Cumhuriyet Tunnel exit of the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line Taksim Station has been closed to transportation.
