Heavy rainfall, which intensified in Istanbul, has caused disruptions in city transportation. Flooding occurred on the Çekmeköy section of the Şile Highway following the downpour.
As the water accumulated on the road posed a risk to drivers, municipal and police teams were dispatched to the area. The teams have initiated water drainage operations on the highway.
As part of these efforts, the Ümraniye direction of the Şile Highway has been temporarily closed to vehicle traffic. Traffic flow on the route is being provided in a controlled manner via the side road.
It was reported that teams are continuing their work to drain the accumulated water and reopen the road to traffic.
