Footage of the accident that claimed a young woman's life has emerged
Footage has emerged of the accident in Adana where a young woman lost her life after being struck by a minibus while crossing the road.
The accident occurred on July 7 at approximately 11:00 AM on Bülent Angın Boulevard in the Sümer neighborhood of the Seyhan district. According to allegations, the passenger minibus with license plate 01 M 0568, driven by Mehmet L. (45), struck 23-year-old Ümmü Elsun as she was using the pedestrian crossing.
The young woman, who was severely injured, passed away at Seyhan State Hospital, where she had been taken.
The driver, who fled the scene after the accident, was apprehended in the Namık Kemal neighborhood by teams from the Seyhan District Police Department's Crime Prevention and Investigation Bureau.
An alcohol test conducted by traffic police determined that Mehmet L. had a blood alcohol level of 2.63 promille.
Following this, the driver's license was suspended for 2 years, and he was issued a total administrative fine of 100 thousand TL for driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
After the completion of legal procedures, Mehmet L. was referred to the courthouse, where he was arrested by the court and sent to prison.
Meanwhile, the moment of the accident was captured second-by-second by the dashboard camera of the minibus driven by the intoxicated driver.
