Istanbul Governor Davut Gül announced that the forest fire in Silivri has been brought under control and that the person responsible for starting the fire has been taken into custody.
The forest fire in Silivri, caused by a person grilling, was brought under control after an intervention lasting approximately 7 hours.
Istanbul Governor Davut Gül stated in a post on his social media account, "The forest fire that broke out in Silivri has been brought under control through the rapid and coordinated intervention of all our institutions.
I would like to thank all public institutions and organizations involved in the firefighting efforts, especially our Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı, who closely followed the process.
The person who caused the fire has been taken into custody, and the judicial process is ongoing," he said.
