Forest fire on the Düzce-Sakarya border brought under control
The fire that broke out in a wooded area on the Düzce-Sakarya border was brought under control after approximately 6 hours of work by teams. Cooling efforts are ongoing in the region.
The fire broke out in a wooded area in the Yeşilyayla locality on the Düzce-Sakarya border at around 14:45.
The fire, which started for an unknown reason, grew in a short time. Upon the notification of citizens who noticed the smoke rising from the area, numerous fire department teams and teams affiliated with the Regional Directorate of Forestry from Düzce and Sakarya were dispatched to the region.
After work carried out within a 50-hectare area for approximately 6 hours, the fire in the region was brought under control.
While the teams continue cooling efforts in the area, an investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire.
