Garrison Commander dies after suffering heart attack at volleyball tournament
Akhisar Airfield Commander Infantry Colonel Mutlu Yaşar Kaplan, who suffered a heart attack during a volleyball tournament at the Gölet Area in the Akhisar district of Manisa, has passed away at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.
Akhisar Airfield Commander Infantry Colonel Mutlu Yaşar Kaplan fell ill during a break at a volleyball tournament held at the Gölet Area in the Akhisar district of Manisa yesterday evening.
Upon notification by those nearby, Colonel Kaplan was taken by ambulance first to Akhisar Mustafa Kiraz State Hospital and then transferred to Manisa Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital.
Kaplan's heart stopped again while he was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit there.
Despite all interventions by doctors, Akhisar Airfield Commander Infantry Colonel Mutlu Yaşar Kaplan could not be saved.
It was learned that a farewell ceremony will be held for Kaplan in Manisa tomorrow, after which his body will be sent to his hometown of İzmir.
