Glass of observation deck in national park cracks due to heat
The floor of the Şahin Deresi Glass Observation Deck located within Kazdağı National Park has cracked due to temperatures exceeding 42 degrees. The district governor announced that the deck has been closed to visitors.
A section of the floor of the Şahin Deresi Glass Observation Deck, located within Kazdağı National Park in Edremit, Balıkesir, has cracked due to extreme heat.
Edremit District Governor Ahmet Odabaş told reporters that the glass observation deck will remain closed while expert teams conduct an inspection and the cracked floor glass is replaced.
Odabaş stated that the observation deck will be reopened to visitors in the coming days, in line with the reports from technical teams.
It was learned that a technical team from the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality has also been dispatched to the region.
According to a report by Balıkesir Politika Gazetesi, the cause of the cracking of the observation deck's floor glass is extreme heat exceeding 42 degrees.
