Grandson stabs grandfather, leaving him critically injured after being denied pocket money
In an incident in the İnegöl district of Bursa, a grandson who became angry after being denied pocket money stabbed his grandfather multiple times, leaving him critically injured. The grandson, who also stabbed himself, locked himself inside the apartment building. The process of persuading the suspect was captured on camera second by second.
The incident occurred around 21:00 on 2. Mutlu Street in the Hamidiye neighborhood. İbrahim İ. (18) went to visit his grandfather, Kemal K. (73). According to allegations, the grandson asked his grandfather for money.
When the grandfather refused to give him money, a verbal argument broke out between them. The verbal argument suddenly turned into a fight. The angry grandson grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed his grandfather multiple times, leaving him critically injured.

Critically injured, the grandfather, Kemal K., managed to exit the house with difficulty, while the angry grandson locked himself inside the apartment building. Citizens who heard the commotion reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The critically injured grandfather was taken to the hospital after receiving initial intervention at the scene.
Police teams made intense efforts to persuade the young man who had locked himself in the apartment building. The suspect surrendered after 1 hour of persuasion. The grandson, who was persuaded by police teams, was taken to the hospital for treatment.
The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
