In Tokat, an individual with mental health issues entered a schoolyard with a knife. Teachers who noticed the situation brought the students inside the school and locked the doors, while the individual was neutralized by police teams arriving at the scene.
The incident occurred at Gazipaşa Primary School at around 15:00.
According to allegations, Ömer Çelik, who has mental health issues, wanted to enter the school with a knife in his hand.
THEY LOCKED THE DOORS
Teachers who saw the individual with a knife in the schoolyard took the students into the school building as a precaution and locked the doors.
Police teams, who arrived at the scene upon notification, neutralized Çelik.
It was learned that the same individual had carried out the same act at the same school last year.
Parents stated that their children's mental health had been affected and said that there should be security guards at schools.
