In the Vakfıkebir district of Trabzon, the body of a man who had fled to a wooded area after first wounding his wife with a knife and then shooting her to death 2 months ago has been found dismembered by wild animals.
According to the information obtained, in the incident that took place on August 9, 2025, in the Karatepe neighborhood of the Vakfıkebir district, Mustafa Sağlam (38) stabbed his wife, Tuğba Sağlam, in the bathroom.
After stabbing his wife, Mustafa Sağlam opened fire with an automatic shotgun he had with him, and after wounding her, he fled into the wooded area with the automatic shotgun in his hand. Upon notification, medical teams arrived at the scene and determined that Tuğba Sağlam had lost her life.
While the gendarmerie teams launched a large-scale operation to capture Mustafa Sağlam following the incident, numerous JASAT and Gendarmerie Special Operations teams also participated in the operation. Despite the efforts that have been ongoing for 2 months, Sağlam could not be reached, and finally, a male body dismembered by wild animals was found in a wooded area in the Karatepe neighborhood.
While the body was sent to the Trabzon Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy, it was determined during the autopsy that the body belonged to Mustafa Sağlam. The suspicion that his body may have been dismembered by wild animals in the area after he committed suicide is being investigated.
