The incident took place in a park in the Hürriyet neighborhood of the Osmangazi district. According to allegations, Hamza Ç. began a verbal argument with a large group in the park. As the argument escalated, a scuffle broke out between the parties. While it is alleged that the 17-year-old was beaten, Hamza Ç. grabbed his gun during the incident.

As a result of the weapon being fired, Hamza Ç. first wounded himself in the leg, and then Berat O., who was on the opposing side, was also shot in the leg. Upon reports from bystanders, numerous medical and police teams were dispatched to the scene.

Medical teams provided initial treatment to the wounded at the scene and then transported them to different hospitals. It was noted that while being taken to the ambulance on a stretcher, Hamza Ç. told the medical staff, "Brother, please forgive me, you had to carry me this much."

Meanwhile, the young man, who continued to react to his surroundings for a while after the incident, was later taken under treatment by medical teams. Neighborhood residents claimed that movies and social media content have been influential in the fights occurring among young people recently.
