He killed his ex-wife and son with a pump-action shotgun: Details of the family tragedy have emerged
In Istanbul's Arnavutköy district, a man who was subject to a restraining order killed his ex-wife and 18-year-old son with a pump-action shotgun before taking his own life with the same weapon. It was revealed that the man, who massacred his family, committed the act because his ex-wife, whom he had divorced a year ago, had married someone else.
The incident took place in the Boğazköy neighborhood of Arnavutköy. According to the information obtained, Davut Gökkaya, who was subject to a restraining order, came to the house after hearing that his ex-wife, Türkan Gökkaya, whom he had divorced a year ago, had married someone else.
Allegedly, as soon as the man entered the house, he opened fire with the pump-action shotgun he had brought with him, first at his ex-wife Türkan Gökkaya, and then shot his 18-year-old son, Emin Gökkaya.

The man, who then wanted to shoot his other son who was in the house, failed to achieve his goal because the child hid behind the sofa. Finally, Davut Gökkaya shot himself with the same pump-action shotgun and committed suicide.
Upon the notification of citizens in the surrounding area who heard the gunshots, numerous police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. In the examination conducted by the medical teams, it was determined that Türkan Gökkaya, her son Emin Gökkaya, and Davut Gökkaya had lost their lives at the scene.

Following the investigations by police teams at the scene, the bodies were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue. Photographs of the deceased family members taken together have also emerged.

On the other hand, according to the information obtained, it was learned that one of the family's children had also lost their life in a traffic accident that occurred in previous years.
The investigation initiated regarding the incident is ongoing.
