The incident occurred around 22:15 on Ok Street in the Karşıyaka neighborhood of Samsun's Canik district. According to the information obtained, Emrah Akpınar (38) shot his wife, Emine Akpınar (36), a mother of 3 who was in the process of divorcing him and had a restraining order against him, in the head with a handgun in the middle of the street.
Upon hearing the gunshots, police and ambulances were dispatched to the scene. Police and medical teams arriving at the scene determined that Emine Akpınar had lost her life in the middle of the street.
Emine Akpınar's relatives arrived at the scene and suffered nervous breakdowns upon receiving the tragic news.
Those who fainted were taken to the hospital by ambulance. Emine Akpınar's lifeless body was sent to the Samsun Group Presidency of the Council of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy. The police have launched an investigation to capture Emrah Akpınar, who fled after the incident. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
