In the Nilüfer district of Bursa, a field of approximately 5 decares, now surrounded by luxury housing, residences, and commercial structures, continues to be a site of agricultural production in the middle of urbanization.

It is stated that the zoned value of the land located in the 23 Nisan neighborhood has reached approximately 150 million lira. While it is noted that the price per decare for zoned plots in the region varies between 25 and 30 million lira, the producer chose to plant wheat instead of selling the land.

It is expected that 3 tons of wheat will be harvested this season from the production carried out on the approximately 5-decare area. If the wheat is sold at 13 lira per kilogram, the income the producer will earn will be approximately 39 thousand lira.

It was reported that the producer, who has not leaned toward a decision to sell despite the high market value, has maintained this stance for 377 days. The field draws attention as one of the rare areas where agriculture is still practiced in a region where modern construction is concentrated.

The wheat field, remaining among skyscrapers and branded businesses, has also brought the debates regarding the future of agricultural lands within the rapidly changing urban fabric of Bursa back to the agenda.
