He stole a cross from a church for his girlfriend

The incident occurred last Wednesday around 11:30 a.m. at a church located on Atıf Yılmaz Street in the Hüseyinağa neighborhood.

According to the information obtained, a thief who entered the church in the morning hours first sat down and checked the surroundings. While sitting in the church, the suspect set his sights on a symbol used during worship. Taking advantage of the church being empty, the suspect stole the symbol and fled the scene.

The moments of the theft were captured moment by moment on security cameras. Upon notification, police teams launched an investigation to locate the stolen religious symbol. During the investigation, the church's security camera footage was examined in detail.

From the footage, it was determined that the suspect left the scene by taking a taxi to the Kemal Paşa neighborhood in Fatih. The suspect was caught and taken into custody by the teams while sitting in a park.

It was determined that the identified suspect, S.A., had a total of 37 records for various crimes. On the other hand, it was understood that the suspect had stolen the church's symbol to give as a gift to his girlfriend, and the symbol was recovered.

The captured suspect was sent to the judicial authorities for the crime of "Theft from a Place of Worship" after the completion of procedures at the police station and was arrested and sent to prison.
