He tried to overtake the car his son was driving: 3 dead, 4 injured
In the Çorlu district of Tekirdağ, 3 people lost their lives and 4 others, including 2 children, were injured in an accident involving 3 cars.
The accident occurred in the evening hours on the Sarılar road in the Hatip neighborhood, near the Karatepe Prison.
The car with license plate 59 ABM 061, driven by Erdem Koç, overtook the car with license plate 59 AIJ 108, which was being driven by Burak Koç in front of him.
The car driven by Erdem Koç, the car driven by Sercan Arıcan coming from the opposite direction, and the car driven by Burak Koç were involved in a chain-reaction accident.
Following the accident, driver Erdem Koç and his wife Birsen Koç lost their lives at the scene.
Sercan Arıcan, Nihan Arıcan, Muradiye Yavuz, and two children who were injured in the accident were taken to hospitals by ambulance.
Muradiye Yavuz, one of the injured, could not be saved despite all interventions.

It was learned that the driver who died in the accident, Erdem Koç, was involved in the crash while trying to overtake the car driven by his son, Burak Koç. The gendarmerie's investigation into the accident is ongoing.
