According to the latest data shared by the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ), the rainfall that began on the evening of October 13 and intensified in the following days has contributed to water levels in the dams at a record level.
The average dam occupancy rate, which was at 38.06 percent on October 14, rose to 52.43 percent with an increase of 14.37 points in just four days following the continuous rainfall.

ONE OF THE BEST OCTOBER FIGURES OF THE LAST 10 YEARS
Since the beginning of the year, 876.61 kilograms of rainfall per square meter has fallen on Istanbul's dams. A significant portion of the water provided to the city was also supported by alternative sources. According to İSKİ data, a total of 572.12 million cubic meters of external water was transferred to the dams, including 451.54 million cubic meters from Melen and 120.58 million cubic meters from Yeşilçay. A total of 918 million 22 thousand cubic meters of water was supplied to the city from drinking water treatment plants during the year.
Looking at İSKİ's historical statistics for October 18, it is seen that Istanbul's dams have reached the highest October average of the last three years this year. Occupancy rates were measured at 21.29 percent in 2023, 34.38 percent in 2024, and only 24.51 percent in 2025. Today's level of 52.43 percent has been recorded as the best October 18 data of the last 8 years, following the 53.63 percent rate in 2018.
