Horrific incident in Mardin: Three members of the same family found dead in their home

Berna Kaya (33), Mehmet Kaya (37), and their 5-year-old child Samyeli Kaya, who lived in the Kızıltepe district of Mardin, were found dead in their home during the night, having been shot in the head.

The incident occurred in an apartment on the 2nd floor of the Hacı Şeyhmus Can Apartment building, located on Mardin Street in the Turgut Özal neighborhood.

DOOR OPENED BY NEIGHBORS

After being unable to reach the family for a long time, neighbors grew suspicious and opened the apartment door together with the neighborhood headman (muhtar). Upon entering the home, the residents saw the members of the Kaya family lying motionless on the floor and immediately notified the authorities.

HEALTH AND POLICE TEAMS DISPATCHED TO THE SCENE

Following the report, health and police teams were dispatched to the address. Initial examinations determined that Mehmet Kaya, Berna Kaya, and their young daughter Samyeli Kaya had been shot in the head with a firearm and had lost their lives.

AUTOPSY PROCEDURES INITIATED

The bodies of the three deceased individuals were taken to the morgue for detailed examination. Police teams conducted a wide-ranging investigation at the scene.
