House arrest for individual who injured police officer
In Samsun, an individual alleged to have beaten and injured a police officer during an argument that reportedly broke out over a request for a lighter has been sentenced to house arrest by the court.
The incident occurred at night in front of the City Club on İstiklal Street in the Ulugazi neighborhood of the İlkadım district.
According to the information obtained, police officer A.Ö. was punched and attacked by M.A., whom he encountered on the street during his day off, after M.A. asked him for a lighter. The officer's nose was broken, and he was hospitalized.
Police officer A.Ö. was taken under treatment at Gazi State Hospital. M.A. was detained by teams from the Gazi Police Station. A search of the suspect's person revealed a quantity of narcotics.
Following the procedures, M.A. was referred to the Samsun Courthouse, where the court ordered that he be placed under house arrest with an electronic monitoring tag. It was also learned that legal proceedings have been initiated against the individual for possession of narcotics.
