IETT bus catches fire while in motion
An IETT bus caught fire for an unknown reason while in motion in Sultanbeyli during the morning hours. Fire crews intervened in the blaze, which grew in a short time.
The incident occurred at 06:00 on Demokrasi Street in the Turgut Reis neighborhood. According to the information received, flames began to rise from the engine compartment of the IETT bus with license plate 34 GA 3897 while it was in motion.
The flames grew in a short time. Upon notification, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire was brought under control as a result of the intensive efforts of the fire crews.
Due to the fire, Demokrasi Street was closed to traffic for a while.
While the fire was completely extinguished after cooling efforts, the fact that there were no passengers on the bus during the fire prevented a potential disaster.
An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
