Imam who fell into a stream while fishing loses his life
An imam who lost his balance and fell into the Eşen Stream while fishing on its bank in the Seydikemer district of Muğla has lost his life.
The incident occurred in the evening hours along the Eşen Stream in the Atlıdere neighborhood.
According to the information obtained, Yusuf Özde, who was fishing by the stream, lost his balance while trying to retrieve his fishing line, fell into the water, and was swept away by the current.
Those who saw the person fall reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Upon the notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the area. Özde, who was pulled from the water by citizens, could not be saved despite all interventions by the medical teams who arrived at the scene shortly after, and lost his life.
It was learned that Özde, who was married and a father of two, served as an imam.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
