Investigation launched into wastewater allegations in İzmir
The İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into allegations that wastewater was being discharged into the bay in İzmir.
Following the discovery of information regarding the dumping of waste from a former lead recycling factory in İzmir, which resulted in environmental pollution, the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation.
In the statement issued, it was noted that the Investigation Bureau for Crimes Against the Environment, Zoning, Forests, and Animals has initiated an investigation into 2 excavation company officials and 4 excavation truck drivers regarding the crime of Intentional Pollution of the Environment, as regulated under Article 181 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK) No. 5237.
