The incident occurred on February 27, 2026, on Özaydın Street in the Zafer neighborhood. According to the information obtained, Mehmet K. (58) was injured after jumping from his 7th-floor apartment.

Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. While the man, who suffered an injury to his right knee, was transported to Yunus Emre State Hospital following initial intervention by medical teams, police officers who were suspicious of the situation entered the residence.

Inside, the lifeless body of Mehmet K.'s wife, Sevim Ö. (50), was found. The death of the woman, who was determined to have passed away a few days prior, was treated as suspicious.

It was revealed that the incident was a murder

As a result of the autopsy, it was determined that Sevim Özdemir died by strangulation. Suspect Mehmet K. was taken into custody following his treatment at Eskişehir City Hospital under the instructions of the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The suspect, who confessed in his police statement to having strangled his wife to death, was arrested for the crime of 'Intentional Killing of a Spouse' and sent to prison.
