Killers who ended the lives of two women in Diyarbakır turn out to be close friends

On the evening of July 15 in the Yenişehir district of Diyarbakır, 22-year-old İlayda Alkaş was subjected to an armed attack while returning home with her family after a friend's birthday party.

Alkaş, who was shot by Cemal Alpaslan, a man she had lived with and later separated from, was taken to the hospital in critical condition but lost her life. Efforts to capture Alpaslan, who fled after the attack, are ongoing.

SHE WAS THREE MONTHS PREGNANT

Another femicide occurred on the night of July 24 in the Çiftkapı area of the Sur district. 19-year-old Helin Eren, who was three months pregnant, was shot by Siyabend Şeker while walking with her cousin.

Eren, who was struck by 9 bullets, was taken to the hospital but could not be saved. The assailant, Şeker, was captured and taken into custody by police teams shortly after. Eren's body was laid to rest in the Çiftehavuzlar Cemetery following an autopsy.

THE MALE KILLER HAD BEEN DETAINED 10 DAYS EARLIER

It was learned that Helin Eren had left her home 7 months ago to live with Siyabend Şeker, where she faced violence from the very first day, and had returned to her family 25 days ago.

It emerged that after the murder of İlayda Alkaş on July 15, Eren had told her mother, "Siyabend was also taken into custody and gave a statement."

THE MALE KILLERS TURNED OUT TO BE CLOSE FRIENDS

A striking detail regarding both murders has come to light during the investigation. It was determined that İlayda Alkaş's killer, Cemal Alpaslan, and Helin Eren's killer, Siyabend Şeker, were close friends.

It was established that the two followed each other on social media and had photos taken together while armed. It was also learned that Siyabend addressed Cemal Alpaslan as "brother."

Investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
