Knife attack on 2-year-old child playing in park

The incident occurred around 17:00 at a park located on 4263 Street in the Yunus Emre neighborhood of the Karabağlar district. According to allegations, S.E. (2), who was playing in the park, was attacked by a suspect whose identity has not yet been determined and who was allegedly under the influence of a substance.

The suspect wounded the young child in the throat with a knife he was holding and then fled the scene. Upon notification by citizens in the area, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Medical teams arrived shortly after and provided the first intervention to the injured child. The young child was taken to Ege University Hospital by ambulance. It was learned that the child, who is under treatment at the hospital, is in improving condition.

Apprehended at his home with the weapon used in the crime

Police teams conducting investigations at the scene launched an effort to capture the fleeing suspect. Examining security cameras in the area, the teams identified the identity and address of the suspect who committed the act. The suspect was apprehended at his home during an operation, along with the knife used in the crime. The individual, who was taken into custody, was taken to the police station for processing. The investigation initiated regarding the incident is ongoing.
