A landslide that occurred following heavy rainfall in the Geyve district of Sakarya has closed the connecting road that provides access from the D-650 highway to the Doğançay and Maksudiye neighborhoods.
While it was stated that the rainfall, which began across the city on the evening of the previous day, continues to have an effect, it was reported that the landslide occurred at the Doğançay section of the Sakarya-Bilecik highway. Due to the landslide, entry to the two neighborhoods from the Bilecik direction of the D-650 highway is currently blocked.
Teams were dispatched to the region upon notification. While gendarmerie teams took security measures in the area, the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, SASKİ, and State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) teams have also begun work with heavy machinery to reopen the road to traffic.
