Landslide in Rize: Road closed to traffic
The road has been closed to traffic due to a landslide on a highland road in Rize.
Heavy rainfall that began around noon made its impact felt in the higher elevations of Rize. A landslide occurred on the Çat Valley road in Rize's Çamlıhemşin district due to the intense downpour.
The road leading to Palovit Waterfall, Palovit Plateau, Çat Plateau, Hacıvanak Plateau, Hamlakit Plateau, Kale Village, Çiçekli Plateau, Elevit Plateau, and Trovit Plateau was closed to traffic due to rocks and soil falling onto the road.

Tourists and highland residents who wanted to spend the weekend in the region were unable to return due to the road closure. Citizens stranded where they were located requested assistance from the 112 Emergency Call Center.

Gendarmerie teams, as well as teams from the General Directorate of Highways and the Rize Provincial Special Administration, were dispatched to the scene. Road clearing operations with heavy machinery have been initiated in the area, which has been secured by the Gendarmerie.
