Malatya's Arapgir kızartması receives geographical indication registration certificate
The Turkish Patent and Trademark Office has granted a geographical indication registration certificate to Arapgir kızartması, a delicacy unique to Malatya.
According to the statement made by the Arapgir Municipality, Arapgir kızartması has entered the list of products with geographical indication following the completion of the registration process initiated under the leadership of the municipality.

Arapgir kızartması, which is a meat dish made by frying bone-in meat obtained from the loin or neck of sheep, lamb, or goat in melted butter over low heat—either plain or with sauce—until the entire surface is browned, is among the traditional delicacies of the district and preserves cultural heritage as a special dish served at weddings.
HISTORIC DELICACY TO BE PASSED ON TO FUTURE GENERATIONS
As an important element of the local cuisine, Arapgir kızartması will both contribute to the region's gastronomy tourism and be passed on to future generations in its original form.
