The incident occurred around 15:30 in the Akyel Plateau of the İsmil neighborhood in the central Karatay district. According to the information received, Murat U., who resides in Konya, went to the house where his 25-year-old ex-wife, Bahriye Kalaycı, lived in the neighborhood to talk to her.

Murat U. took his ex-wife to a vacant field near the neighborhood under the pretext of talking. Following an argument between the two, Murat U. first stabbed Bahriye Kalaycı and then himself.

Upon the notification of those nearby, health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. During the initial intervention by the health teams dispatched to the scene, it was determined that Bahriye Kalaycı had lost her life, while Murat U., who was critically injured after stabbing himself, was taken to Konya City Hospital following initial treatment.

It was learned that the divorced couple had a 3-year-old son.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
