Man takes a 'bed tour' through floodwaters following heavy rain in Trabzon

Intense rainfall that began in the morning hours in Trabzon negatively affected life in many parts of the city. As streets and avenues were submerged due to the downpour, the ground floors of some homes and businesses were flooded. On the Black Sea Coastal Road, vehicles were partially submerged, creating long queues.

Drivers and pedestrians faced difficult moments due to water accumulation in the Pelitli, Airport, Değirmendere, and Çömlekçi districts. Due to the impact of the heavy rain, some vehicles became stranded on the road, and drivers struggled to move forward.

The Trabzon Water and Sewerage Administration (TİSKİ), along with highway and fire department crews, intervened in the flooding, clearing clogged drains and working to evacuate water from the roads. Traffic police also took security measures and directed traffic.

Meanwhile, a Trabzon resident surprised onlookers by using his mattress as a raft to travel across the water. Using his hands as oars to move across the surface, the citizen essentially enjoyed a 'bed ride' on the road that had turned into a lake. These curious images received significant attention on social media.
