Following warnings from the General Directorate of Meteorology, heavy rainfall became effective in the city center. With the falling hail, vehicle drivers faced difficulties, and traffic came to a virtual standstill.
Citizens caught unprepared for the rainfall were stranded in metro stations, workplaces, and under buildings.
Due to leaves that were not cleared despite warnings, the manhole covers on the city's main roads became clogged.
Underpasses, as well as the İzmir and Ankara roads, turned into lakes. The rainfall that took the city center hostage and the struggle of the citizens were captured on camera second by second.
