Molotov cocktail attack on AKP provincial building

The incident occurred around 19:00 at the AKP Provincial Presidency building located in the Emir Ensar Apartment in the Bağlar neighborhood. Ski-masked suspects who arrived in front of the party building attempted to enter.

Seeing that the door was locked, one of the suspects lit the Molotov cocktails and threw them at the building. The other 2 individuals kept watch. While the suspects fled after the incident, police teams were dispatched to the area upon notification.

In the investigation conducted by the police, it was determined that one of the Molotov cocktails did not explode, while the other caused damage to the door. Security camera footage from the area was taken under review. The moment of the Molotov cocktail attack on the party building was captured on security camera. Authorities stated that the investigation is being conducted meticulously.

TWO PEOPLE APPREHENDED

Iğdır Police Chief Niyazi Turgay, who went to the party building after the attack, conducted investigations at the scene. Turgay provided information that 3 people carried out the attack and 2 people have been apprehended. Turgay also conveyed his best wishes to AK Party Provincial Chairman Ayaz.

AKP Iğdır Provincial Chairman Ali Kemal Ayaz said in his statement, "The organization, which is losing power every passing day, is trying to scare and intimidate people with such attacks. They should know that we are always standing tall. We will continue to serve our country in line with the instructions of our President. We will continue to walk this path without ever giving up, getting tired, or being afraid."

Stating that there had been a similar attack before, Ayaz said, "This is the second one; there was a machete attack 1 month ago, and today it is like this. Our security forces are doing what is necessary. We condemn and denounce it. We will continue on our way without stopping," he said.
