Moments of knife attack on young girl caught on camera

In the incident that took place on February 10 at 07:40 AM on Cumhuriyet Street in the Cumhuriyet neighborhood of Iğdır, a 16-year-old girl identified as D.B., who was on her way to school, was subjected to a knife attack by 23-year-old Y.B. D.B., who was injured by the blows she received, was taken by ambulance to Iğdır Dr. Nevruz State Hospital and placed under treatment.

Following the incident, as a result of the work carried out by the Iğdır Police Department's Public Security Branch Murder Bureau and the Iğdır Martyr Bülent Yurtseven Police Station, Y.B. was apprehended and taken into custody in a short time. After the procedures at the police station, Y.B. was referred to the courthouse and arrested by the Criminal Court of Peace on charges of "attempted intentional homicide."

It was learned that in his statement, the suspect Y.B. said, "I left the house in the morning. I said, 'I need to stab someone.' I stabbed the girl I encountered on the road."

The footage shows the moments when Y.B. approached D.B. while she was walking with her friends, stabbed her without saying anything, and then walked away from the scene while brandishing the knife. It was reported that D.B.'s treatment at the hospital is ongoing and the investigation into the incident continues.
