Mortuary worker detained over bribery allegations arrested
In the Söke district of Aydın, a mortuary worker (gassal) who allegedly demanded money from citizens for funeral washing services that should be provided free of charge has been arrested.
Numerous reports were filed with CİMER alleging that L.M., who works as a mortuary worker at Söke Fehime Faik Kocagöz State Hospital, was accepting money in exchange for funeral services that are supposed to be free.
Following the reports, an investigation was launched by the Söke Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
In the study conducted by the teams of the Söke Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Bureau, security camera footage and the statements of victims and witnesses were examined.
Judicial proceedings were initiated against the suspect for the crime of "bribery."
L.M., who was taken into custody, was arrested by the judgeship at the courthouse to which he was referred following his procedures at the police station.
