Mother dies of aortic rupture after learning of sexual abuse against her mentally disabled daughter

According to the information obtained, the incident occurred yesterday evening in the center of the Şavşat district. It is alleged that 26-year-old Y.S., who is mentally disabled, told her mother, 53-year-old Nalan Kaya, that she had been sexually abused by an individual. Following this, mother Kaya went to the police station to file a complaint. Launching an investigation after the complaint, police teams apprehended and detained the suspect, 49-year-old T.K., in a short time based on the description provided.

During this time, it was learned that Nalan Kaya, who was at the police station, experienced a spike in blood pressure and suddenly fell ill. It was determined that Kaya, who was taken to Şavşat State Hospital by medical teams called to the scene, had suffered an aortic rupture. Despite all interventions by doctors, Kaya could not be saved.

The death of Nalan Kaya, who was reported to be a mother of one, caused great sadness in the district. The suspect, T.K., who was referred to the courthouse after procedures at the police station, was arrested by the duty magistrate and sent to prison.
