Movie-like chase in Edirne: 17 people found in car that ignored 'stop' order
In Edirne, a Bulgarian-plated car that ignored police orders to stop was found to contain 14 irregular migrants, along with the fleeing driver and two passengers, totaling 17 people.
In Edirne, police teams attempted to stop a Bulgarian-plated car with license plate CB 2356 TH on the southern ring road in the İstasyon neighborhood. It was learned that the suspicious vehicle had repeatedly fled from police checkpoints despite multiple "stop" warnings.
The fleeing car was brought to a halt after a chase, during which it collided with a traffic police patrol vehicle. The driver and two individuals accompanying him fled on foot and disappeared. Police teams discovered that there were 14 irregular migrants inside the car, including women and children.

The migrants, who had been packed into the car as if stacked, appeared exhausted and had difficulty standing. Additionally, a boat was found in the trunk of the car, intended for the migrants to cross the Meriç River.

Police took the 14 irregular migrants—1 Iraqi, 6 Syrian, and 7 Palestinian—to the police station for processing after medical checks at the hospital. Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched to find the driver and the two individuals who abandoned the migrants and fled.
It was learned that after their processing at the police station, the migrants will be handed over to the Edirne Provincial Directorate of Migration Management to be sent back to their home countries. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
