Mufti's office staff waste water, cause environmental pollution: 'We warned them repeatedly, but no one listened'
Water flowing into the streets from the Nasuh Pasha Complex, which was recently transferred from the Regional Directorate of Foundations to the Aydın Provincial Mufti's Office in the Efeler district of Aydın, has drawn the ire of local residents.
Citizens reacting to the trash spread by the water flushed from the complex into the streets stated, "It is not right for the Mufti's office staff to both pollute the environment and waste so much water while cleaning the space transferred to them. We warned them repeatedly, but no one listened."

Built in 1708 by Nasuh Pasha, the Nasuh Pasha Complex is one of the rare structures in Aydın that has managed to survive despite all the difficulties it has faced. About 10 years ago, it was restored to its original state and used by an institution as a school where religious sciences were taught to children.

Staff began cleaning work at the Nasuh Pasha Complex, which was recently transferred to the Aydın Mufti's Office.

TONS OF WATER OVERFLOWED INTO THE STREETS
During the cleaning work, dirty water and trash from the complex overflowed into the street. In these days of drought, tons of water used by the Aydın Provincial Mufti's Office for cleaning spilled out into the streets.

Shopkeepers on 1632 Street in the Köprülü neighborhood expressed their reaction to the situation, stating that despite their warnings, no one paid any attention to the water waste or the trash spread around the environment.
